Mythological, spiritual, pantheistic: these adjectives illustrate the metaphysical world of Bruno 9li (Bruno Novelli, 1980), one of the new faces in the brazilian artistic field. At the same time Bruno 9li summarizes his artistic production with some dichotomies and contradictions of the Brazilian cultural scene: metropolitan and ephemeral art.
In his works animals seem to refer to diaries and bestiaries from the first Europeans holding in the “New World”, epic heroes are needed to the attention of the viewer through an immersion in an ancestral and supernatural world. A return to origins, a lost era full of symbolism, where we can see references to pop culture, comics and movies of science fiction.
With a frantic and saturated style, Bruno 9li draws a chaotic world order, ruled by a mysterious alchemy that controls, between past and future, death and resurrection, metamorphosis between genetic changes and fantastic beasts, demigod and android.
Still a young artist, Bruno 9li has his work internationally recognized, through exhibitions in Europe, North America and Asia.
